A concept website for Green Island Superior, a Mauritian rum since 1960: five scroll-driven film chapters, from a steamer sighting Mauritius in 1896 to a crate opened today.
01The idea
Every Green Island label carries the line Mark Twain heard in Port Louis in 1896: that Mauritius was made first, and heaven copied after it. The concept turns that line into the brand’s story and tells it the way a film trailer would — the crossing, the harbour, the cane, the still, the crate, the bottle.
02Our approach
Each chapter is a short film that plays as you scroll, graded for its era: albumen sepia for 1896, Kodachrome colour for 1960 and faded 16mm for the 1970s. Intertitles carry the story across the cuts, and the site ends on a clear-glass bottle that turns to face you, followed by the tasting notes and the range.
